After reading some reviews, I was pleasantly surprised how nice this lamp looks. Not flimsy, more substantial than expected. And yes, it does stand straight if you know what you are doing. I will agree that I wish it was brighter as it is the only light for the guest bedroom and it is kinda dark in there.
