Love, love, love this lamp! The base is that that pseudo imitation whatever. Its gloriously sturdy, substantial but not chunky. It fits perfectly on my buffet and looks stunning!

While I admire the astronaut theme of the lamp, it's much smaller than I expected. The craftsmanship is superb, though, and it's very easy to move around the house.
