Ok, the assembly was cool and simple enough but the shade is a stretchable paper material which takes a little muscle to pull up and connect to the top of the lampstand. But it looks like what's advertised. Bought it for my son's room cause I thought he might get a kick out of it. I personally don't know why a lamp that changes colors by remote control is necessary but I did have fun playing with it initially and the colors are very pretty.
